TPU Yarn
TPU yarn is made through a process called extrusion. Here are the general steps involved in making a large quantity of TPU yarn in a factory setting:
- Raw material preparation: The first step is to prepare the raw materials needed to make the TPU yarn. This includes melting and mixing the TPU polymer with any additives or fillers that are needed to achieve the desired properties of the yarn.
- Extrusion: The melted TPU mixture is then fed into an extruder, which is a machine that melts and mixes the material and then forces it through a small opening to form a continuous strand of yarn. The extruder can be adjusted to control the thickness and other properties of the yarn.
- Cooling: After extrusion, the TPU yarn is cooled to solidify it. This is typically done using water or air cooling.
- Drawing: The TPU yarn is then drawn through a series of rollers to stretch it and improve its strength and durability.
- Winding: The TPU yarn is then wound onto spools or cones for storage or further processing.
- Packaging and shipping: The TPU yarn is then packaged and shipped to its final destination, whether that is a textile mill or a manufacturer of finished products such as bags, backpacks, or furniture.
